“Poor front desk service”

I tried to book a room online since it offered a low rate. I was not able to book online so I called the hotel. The front desk staff was not able to help honor that rate. I inquired about a group discount that the others I was traveling with was offered. He could not help with that either. He booked the reservation and quoted the current rack rate but told me to call back in the morning. When I called in the morning, they said they could not honor the online rate or the group rate. They said the new rack rate had gone up and so had the group rate. Really?? Unbelivable. Unfortunately, I still booked since we were traveling with a group. At checkin, I inquired again. The agent just said well you are paying what the others in your group are paying. I guess I should have asked to talk to a manager. Then, the room had a slight odor which we ignored since we were only there one night. In the morning, we found out that the drain in the shower/tub would not stay open so we had to manually hold it open to try to drain the water while we showered. We told a housekeeper when we checked out and then told the front desk. I am guessing it might get fixed since we told housekeeping since they won't want to clean it again with standing water. When I brought it up at checkout, the agent wrote quick note saying she would tell maintenance but there was never an apology. I asked if she could look up my Wyndam Rewards number, but she said she couldn't but would leave a note for her manager. That seems like something an agent should be able to look up. There was no one else there when we checked out. I felt like I was interrupting the other things she had to do. The hotel itself seemed clean, but I was not impressed with the service!
