“My first visit to a Baymont and I was underwhelmed.”

The room was well-appointed with a microwave, refrigerator/freezer and a nice tv, even though the remote had to be within 2 feet of the tv to change channels. I had a non-smoking room, but each time I walked into the room I detected a distinct SMOKE odor. It didn't make sense because it was a non-smoking room, and I thought perhaps the fan was drawing smoke in from elsewhere. My third day there, I found a couple of inches of water in the bathtub and cigarette ashes around the perimeter of the bathtub. It appears someone was taking their smoking breaks in my non-smoking room. This time they didn't finish their cover-up job.I alerted the front desk about this, but never heard anything until I inquired about it at the desk.I stayed 4 nights. My last night the front desk staff determined that I did not have a credit card on file and insisted that I come to the front desk to take care of it. It was 10:15 pm, and I was already in bed. I told her I would take care of it in the morning. She insisted that it was against policy to let me stay without a credit card on file, so for some reason I obliged, got dressed and went up to to the desk. Seriously? 10:15 pm? It couldn't have waited until the morning??When I checked out in the morning, the person handling my check-out acted as though I was an inconvenience, not a guest that had just spent 4 nights at their property.I travel a lot, but this was my first stay at a Baymont. We can say simply that I was underwhelmed.
