“Stressful”

Booked two rooms (4 beds) for a college graduation trip 3 months in advance of our stay. My credit card was immediately charged (since there were no refunds). Wouldn't be my first choice when choosing a hotel but everything near the college was booked and we had stayed here previously. I call one week prior to my check-in date to confirm they had my reservation. They did but trying to guarantee a joyful weekend with no issues, I called again on Thursday prior to my Friday check-in. Reservations confirmed. Unable to leave until 6:30 p.m Friday evening for a 4-hour trip to the hotel, I called once more at approximately 8:30 p.m. and again received confirmation. Then I realized that it could be after 11:00 p.m. before we arrived, I called again to let them know it could possibly be that late. So we arrive....and they have given away one of our rooms. After speaking with the General Manager, we are given a suite with one bed and a pull-out sofa bed. I guess paying for two rooms and then having my money for three months is good for them, especially when they can sell the room again. I'm at a loss as to what more I could have done in this situation. Seems like if you've already sold the two rooms, they should come off the list of available rooms. I'm not sure what I would have done if we had to drive around at 11:30 p.m. trying to locate a room 50 miles away. Also would like to have had that other bed I paid for.
