“Nearly there ~ but need to fix some minor issues.”

  , West Texas
I booked online the day before my trip because of an unexpected event; I quickly recevied an email confirming my appointment. But the next day, when I printed out the email to get the name and address of the hotel to look up driving instructions--to my horror there was no phone number, address, or name of the hotel I had booked. I was leaving in less than an hour--and didn't know if I could find my hotel reservation. I called Wyndam (the only name on the email) and they had no record of my reservation number and were of no help looking up possible hotels.I easily found the hotel and checked in. The gentleman at the desk was very helpful and courteous. He gave me a 10% off coupon for Texas Roadhouse--which I used. That was a nice touch. My room was reasonably clean and was what I expected. For the price, I thought it was a good deal. WiFi didn't work in my room (116), which was a problem because I had 4 hours before bedtime with nothing to do. I don't watch much TV, and I was alone, so I had plenty of time to look around the room. The lamp shades were damaged and need to be replaced, but they worked. The bathroom could use some 'detail work', but was in decent shape. The AC was off when I arrived, leaving a slight odor in the room. Once it cooled up I didn't notice it again. There was obvious wear and tear on the room, but it was still nice.I made coffee in my room the next morning and wanted to put the cream I brought with me in my coffee, but the microwave was ANCIENT and didn't work. (Maybe I didn't know how to operate it.) Breakfast was mediaocre, but palatable. I couldn't drink the orange juice because it had high fructose corn syrup in it and I'm allergic to corn. I got ready and left my keys at the front desk, grateful for a good nights sleep.***Since the hotel had recently changed owners, there was construction going on everywhere, but in my room I didn't hear any noises. With some updates and some work, I think this will be a nice hotel. I recommend it and will stay here again when in Temple.
