“Definite problems”

Our problems started with check in when we were given a room with king bed. When addressing the problem at front desk, the clerk advised that I had a confirmed registration through Priceline for a single room with king bed. I stated that I did not go through priceline that I used the direct hotel site for reservation and I confirmed two queen beds as we were traveling with our 17 year daughter and needed two beds. I was again advised that it was not the reservation confirmed via hotel records and they did not have any rooms with queens available. I opened my luggage and retrieved my confirmation email which was confirmed by Baymount for two queen beds. At that point, staff member said let me check further and stated that they've had issues with the reservation system. She knew what the problem was so they would upgrade us to a suite. Sounded good . . . BUT if you know that you have issues with the reservation system why would you challenge me on this to begin with?Once getting to the suite - it appeared clean enough - although there was type of large stain on the back of the loveseat. I did not care since we were not using it anyway. We went out for the evening and came back to the hotel around 9 p.m. I proceeded to shower and a large roach dropped in front of my face when pulling the shower curtain back. When I bent down to kill it, I noticed there was a dead spider behind the toilet as well. My thought and experience has been - when there is one roach - there are more!! Then we got ready to crawl into bed and my daughter advised there was a stain on the inside edge of the comforter. We pulled the entire bedding back and the sheets appeared to be clean. Even so, she slept fully clothed in a sweatshirt and sweatpants as did I.Regarding location - it was easy to find being right off Highway 35; however, there was absolutely no materials used to mitigate highway noise as our room faced the highway. We heard loud highway noise making it difficult to get to sleep. We were also located very close to the elevator and heard all the elevator noise for awhile into the night. NOT a great experience SO instead of staying a 2nd night, we checked out after the first night. I explained the bug and stain issue to the front desk clerk. He apologized for the bugs stating that all the rooms were sprayed a few weeks ago SO he was surprised about the issue. I asked about billing. I have to wait 7 to 10 days to receive a refund for the unused night - great!
