I try hard not to say bad things about anything but since I got a survey, here goes: Making reservations: I was on their website looking at rooms/prices. Site said $75. Decided to call to see if there was a better 'last minute' rate since it was the night before our arrival. The guy said the rate was $89. ? Told him about the price on THEIR website and he reluctantly honored it but I made the reservations online anyway. Arrival: the smell when we walked in the door almost made me turn around and leave. The bar in the upstairs lobby allows smoking and even though it's an enclosed room, the mix of the stale smoke with whatever they were using to mask the smell permeated the hotel and was horrible. The room: we couldn't keep our curtains open because of the design of the hotel - the rooms look straight into the windows of other rooms across the narrow courtyard. The actual room wasn't bad. Sleeping was fine. Shower in the morning: literally no hot water. None. Husband had plenty later on, tho. At check in, told them I would pay cash and not to run my credit card. It was noted on my acct. When I turned in my keys at check out, they'd run my credit card. Didn't trust them at that point to attempt a refund. Afraid I'd end up paying twice. Only good note: we misunderstood and thought breakfast was over at 10:30 when it was actually 10:00. We got there at 10:10 and a nice lady was putting everything away but very sweetly stopped to offer us whatever she had left. She couldn't have been nicer. She said she was actually the sales manager because the breakfast person didn't show up. Kudos to her.
