“very disappointed”

I've stayed at many Baymont hotels, and this one was by far the worst. Our problems started when we got to our room. We specifically booked a non-smoking room as some of us have allergies. The room reeked of cigarette smoke and the cheap air freshener that they tried to cover the scent with. Needless to say, our allergies were not fooled and we had bad headaches and sinus issues for our entire stay. There was trash on the floor and stuffed into the hide-a-bed. The bed sheets and towels had holes worn through in places. The shower curtain would not stay closed due to the rod mounts being pulled halfway out of the wall and the rod bowed down in the middle. At one point, the bathroom lights would not turn on. The hotel staff tried to get them working to no avail. When the electrician arrived, he flipped the switch again and they came on, so he left without investigating further. We prayed that whatever connection was loose wouldn't burn the place down while we slept. The safe would not lock. On our last night, we came back to our room door standing open. Luckily nothing was missing. The decent chairs on our room had been replaced with office chairs with torn upholstery, so I'm not sure if it was the maid service or the furniture movers that left it open. With the conditions being so poor and security compromised, I didn't dare complain to the manager for fear of retaliation.
