“Worst stay ever”

Very upset with the room this stay. I reported a list of maintenance problems to the front desk when I checked out. The bed was so worn that I felt like I had to hold on to something to keep from falling out. (ROOM 160). After years of staying at this Baymont I was expected to give a $50 deposit when I registered . When told that I would get it back when I checked out, I questioned why I had to do it in the first place if they weren't going to check the room before I left. No, just for insurance purposes, the clerk said. WHAT? Then why take it? In all of my stays in Amarillo, I've paid with cash and never paid a deposit. It was the principle of the thing that upset me. The clerk did not believe that I had never paid it before. We will find another Wyndms Reward hotel to stay at when we travel through Amarillo (3xs a year) and hopefully get a better night's sleep.
