“Pleasant rooms, unpleasant staff.”

  , Albuquerque
Our check-in was pleasant. We agree with other reviewers about Nikki. So pleasant and professional. Our room was very clean and well stocked with a fridge, microwave and plenty of toiletries. It was a nice touch to have popcorn and hot chocolate on hand for weary travelers. However, at check-out, we mentioned that our wake up call never came. There was some lame excuse about the power being out. But, the clock in our room was on the right time, so there was no power outage in our room. Maybe they are on a separate circuit - - -not likely. The lady and man at the desk were dour. Not at all pleasant. They, nor the manager who was present cared that we got a late start on a very bad weather day. Had a feeling that these employees and the bearded manager weren't pleased to have a Hispanic same sex couple staying at their hotel, this based on their sour attitudes and the expressions on their faces. There was an unpleasant exchange with a young man named Justin. Accused us of smoking in the room. I don't smoke. Very aggressive and unprofessional young guy. Doesn't fit with everyone else here. Sidewalk superintendent, I guess. Left us with a sour experience. Changed this from an above average hotel in terms of comfort and professionalism. Granted, we are in the heart of north Texas- - -but, the employees at this property should broaden their horizons and their narrow mindedness. We urge other non-Caucasion travelers and anyone who is same sex to avoid this place like the plague. Who needs snooty derision and condescension after a long drive????
