“Will never stay again”

Our checkin at the Baymont Inn and Suites was uneventful, but after check in it was all down hill from there. We arrived on a busy Friday, went to our room and unpacked. Left the hotel room and arrived back around 8:30 that evening to our door not locking (but the light was blinking green like it was accepting our key) after 2 trips down to the front desk to find someone to look at this it was determined that there was an issue with our door and we would have to be moved for the night. We had booked a suite because we had little kids with us and thought the split room would be better for us. Our new room was just a standard room. I totally get that it is a hotel and you only have so many rooms, but when I asked the lady at the front desk if we would be comped for this her immedate response was "I can't do anything for you because you booked thru expedia" (Which I had not, i booked straight through their own website). I did express that if we couldn't get moved back to a larger room the next night we would be leaving. I was called around noon the next day and told that the lock was fixed and was then told I needed to come and move my stuff back into the original room. Keep in mind I am on vacation and I am not changing my plans over something that was not my fault. I came back around 5 to move our items and was not even given any type of apology or hardly even acknowledged while standing at the counter. When checking out on Sunday nothing was done to our bill and when I questioned the girl about it (the same and only girl I had dealt with the entire time there) I was asked if I had talked to someone about a rate change for Friday night. I then reminded her she was the only person I had dealt with and she told me she did not have the authority to change my bill. She went and found a real manager and our bill was changed... Was it changed to my liking, no. So here are my true complaints... #1. Get some friendlier service people #2. I shouldn't have had to ask for my bill to changed, it should have been an automatic #3. I know this isn't mentioned in my review, but there are signs all over the place that says "No Pets Allowed"... yet I saw SEVERAL different groups coming in with Dogs. overall my experience was horrible and we will NOT be returning to this chain.
