“Very disappointed”

  , Middlesboro
We were very disappointed. The woman at the desk was pleasant and let us check in early, but we were surprised when we saw our room. It was dark since there was just 1 lamp and a small overhead light over the table. The sink drain stop was broken, and there was no way to lift it up to let the water drain, so we had to wait for it to seep away. The ice machine didn't work, but a hotel employee happened by, and he offered to get ice for us. Thankfully, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was available in a former hotel room, but since all the rooms had exterior entrances, guests had to go outside to get to the breakfast area. There was seating for only 20 people, so other guests were either standing, sitting outside on a luggage cart, or leaving without eating. There was no French toast as advertised - just biscuits and gravy and waffles, along with breads, bagels, mini muffins, and cereals. One waffle maker was not working, so people were standing in line for the other one. This line congested the entry door as well as the rest of the counter space. The juice machine wasn't working, but juice was available in pitchers. There wasn't adequate counter space, and since the biscuits and gravy were in the corner, they were not accessible when people were waiting for waffles. Items were not readily replenished. Had to ask for muffins and for coffee, then had to wait for the coffee to be made. Didn't eat my English muffin since it tasted moldy. There was a bowl of apples and oranges, but it was on a tiny table across the room and looked like it had been there a while as decor. The sidewalks were filthy. When leaving the hotel property, it was difficult to see oncoming traffic because of the bushes on both sides of the driveways.
