“Week stay in May”

Picked this hotel because I'd stayed there before under former name couple of years ago. Nothing changed after acquisition, as far as room furnishings, bedding, breakfast - nothing, 'cept for staff. Got a king n/s room facing back parking lot where all the truckers are - oh boy! What surprised me this trip is the back door still doesn't close right, and it never locks, even though there is a card key lock mechanism. The door SLAMS shut. Why haven't they fixed that in 2 years? they also advertise a pool, but it was being serviced and wouldn't be available - MAYBE - until a week later. There's no indication online or at the desk about that. And it's repair depended on when the lady who services the rooms, could do the work. What? No pool expert doing the job? Hmmm... Third thing was the T.V. in the room worked when it felt like it. They provide a channel listing printed by hotel, but it doesn't correspond with T.V. In fact, I had to ask the desk manager to come up to my room to figure it out. She explained something about the cable company, but it didn't explain why stations didn't match or why there is a Ch. 107-1, 107-2, etc. The bed was very hard, and difficult to get used to. The door had a gap all the way around it, so when anyone walks by, you hear EVERYTHING. The continental breakfast is just OK, if you want a carb breakfast. One thing was better than the last time - the refrigerator actually worked, and froze my ice cream bar. So, although it's centrally located, and under new name, you get what you pay for and don't expect more. I do appreciate the front desk staff though. They accommodated when they could.
