“Average, with a few poor points & a few good ones.”

This is basically an average hotel, when you consider it's older & well-worn, but appears to be clean & @ a low price with a good location (as long as the low price continues). It smelled just fine, but an fragrance could be detected. I was not happy when I made reservations on-line @ 1 price, but it showed a $15 higher price on the confirmation - I called the hotel, & they said they asked the owner, who said the prices just went up. That is not good business when the rate that was showing was not what I received. They only lowered the price then by $5. Rooms do have mini-frigs, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron/board. The clerk was very friendly upon check in (quick), & was very pleasant when we wanted to change rooms, as our was too noisy - 201 is @ the top of the stairs (corner room), so all upstairs guests have to pass it to go to their rooms, & within the 1st few minutes we heard several sirens. We were moved to 219, which had a loud barking dog across the hall in 222 as we entered our room; & when we left, so we told the pleasant clerk, who called the room, but no answer. Quiet other than that. A/C was great, had plenty of hot water. Only 1 working light bulb above sink; pleasant clerk brought bulb in just a few minutes, but it did not fit, & she said it was the only 1 she could find. She did offer us another room, but we declined - we traded bulb with another in room. We slept fine, but we had to take off blanket & put it back on bed the opposite direction they had it - it was too short their way to pull up as cover. Plenty of pillows. Complimentary breakfast was OK with basics - only hot foods were gravy, waffles, & bagels - no meat or eggs. We used no other amenities. Check out was also quick & pleasant. Probably would stay there again, as long as it remains low priced & clean; would recommend only to others that like the basics @ a low price.
