“Communication”

I have always believed that hotels offer special rates to entice people to stay there and to book rooms that may otherwise stay empty. Therefore, when I saw the terrific rate on Hotwire I never expected anything but good service at a hotel from a chain I have always had a good stay with. I was shocked that this rate was for a full size bed, Both a Queen and King would be extra money (I did upgrade). I mentioned to the desk clerk that we could not partake in the breakfast because we had to be at work by 7:00am. We were trying to iron our uniforms and discovered the iron did not work. We called the front desk and he said he'd bring another one up. After waiting a half hour I called again and he finally brought us another iron. The next night, when we arrived back after work at about 10pm, we entered our room and found that we had had no maid service. I went to the front desk and asked why and the clerk informed me that reservations made through Hotwire and Priceline did not get maid service unless requested. This treatment like 3rd class citizens is highly uncalled for and I feel we should have at least been told this upon check-in. There was no way for us to know that we had to request service!!! It was not in writing anywhere and we were never told. I will NEVER stay here again and we stay in this area often.
