Thank you for the important feedback that you provided to us about your stay. We recently changed our mattresses at our hotel, and choose to use an above standard product. We understand that not everyone has the same preferences as far as firmness, so we choose one that will accommodate a wide range of people. We wish that we could provide our guests with a mattress with adjustable firmness, but we feel that an affordable rate is far more important. We also have rooms with different configurations, some with chairs and desks and some with sofas. Thank you very much for providing your feedback regarding your stay at our hotel. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We try our hardest to make sure that all of our rooms are inspected, but unfortunately something got overlooked. We wash the shower curtains from each room regularly, and must have forgotten to replace them in your room. When a guest notifies us of anything lacking in our rooms, we promptly get the issue resolved - missing shower curtain or road noise. Our hotel does not directly face the highway, but we understand that not everyone is the same. Some people are light sleepers, and when they notify us at check-in, we make sure to place them in a room towards the back of the hotel where the road noise is minimized. Thank for taking the time to post a review. We value each guest's comments and concerns so that we can improve upon them. We apologize for the problems you experienced during your stay, and will address the issues immediately. First of all, I did want to personally assure you that our hotel is as safe as any other hotel in the area. We have a security patrol that drives through the hotel in the evening every night. We recommend to our guests to park in front of the building so that there is more visibility to the vehicle from the front desk. There were some reported break-ins in an adjacent hotel, so we were simply offering the best advice we could to all of our guests during that time. We train our entire staff regularly to know where all of the retail stores are located and keep a list and maps for those stores at the front desk. We also offer our guests a copy of that list upon request and provide maps if needed. We will address the issues to communicate these things better with our guests. Also, we will check for odors in the room you stayed in. We do know that the carpet, mattresses, curtains, and wall paint have all been updated just two months ago - but we will inspect the room for any unpleasant odors. We do clean, disinfect, and deodorize each guest room upon each guest check out, and even deep clean vacant rooms when they have not been rented. The smell you noticed may have been from the heater in the room, which tends to give off a 'burning' smell when switched between cooling and heating. Lastly, the garbage that was being picked up "every day", was the dumpster for another hotel. We have our dumpster emptied 2 times per week, and are not sure why the dumpster at the other hotel is picked up every day. We would have been happy to address all of these issues during your stay, and regret not knowing about them until now. We hope that you will give us another chance, so that we could make up for all these issues. « hide
