“Least enjoyable stay in last 5 years”

  , Franktown
We have been coming to the Baymont for 5 years at Thanksgiving, and we encountered more problems on this six night stay than ever before. The hotel has a feeling of uncleanliness because of the carpets and also the furniture in the lobby, When there is fabric furniture, arms and back need very frequent cleaning to not feel oily, dirty, as if you are 1000th person to sit there since last cleaning. I believe the furniture in the lobby may get more soiled because the overflow from the Breakfast room will go out and sit there. That does not seem like a good combination and may be a consequence of a slower than necessary breakfast room. No hot water for bathing on Thanksgiving morning for 3-4 hours which was a fun start to the day. We went to breakfast thinking it would give more time for the water heat up. When we got there no meat, no eggs, no biscuits, no coffee, Miss Betty was not there either for over 40 min. When she came back she said the delivery of their food had not come like it should have and she was very sorry. We were too. Something very wrong there. Poor planning or something that should not ever happen but especially during a holiday week. Breakfast room is not well organized. Ran out of the hot food supplied, biscts, eggs & meat more than once during our 6 night stay. It was not at the end of the breakfast room open time. Miss Betty was very nice but did not anticipate the need for more hot food timely. When she did, it took a long time which shows the need for a more accurate estimate of the situation. The biscuits were very stale tasting the only day I tried them. The meat seemed unusually greasy, maybe needing a few more minutes of cooking. I used the Microwave to nuke it when they both were available. The coffee was awful every single day. It was weak. There is no cure for weak coffee, strong coffee can have hot water added but weak is just weak. I am pretty sure Miss Betty does not drink coffee or has never tasted the coffee she makes. We talked to some other couples that were there and they said they had been coming annually there but would not be back to Baymont, they would go elsewhere. The fact that the Baymont has a reasonably nice pool and pool area is one of the reasons we have come here in the past. The pool and the Breakfast room were benefits that attracted us there initially. The former operator of the breakfast room, Deb, was very capable and made it enjoyable every time we came.
