“Maybe in summer....”

  , La Porte, In
I pulled into Joplin as snow started coming down (4 inches) about 3 PM. The front desk was changing shifts, and I believe it was the manager set me up in a room. I was probably one of the first check-ins, and with the snow coming down and a north wind, she gave me the very last room on the 3rd floor on the north side. Could she have given me an inside hallway room? Probably. Now, I had asked, on the online booking site, for an upper floor room, because I like some kind of view, but did she have to put her first check-in at the very end of the building, with outside access on the windy side of the hotel? Doubt it! I had mentioned at check-in that I like pools and spas, which this Baymont had. But, to get to the pool, I had to walk outside the entire length of the back half of the building before I could duck inside to a hallway. Not a pleasant jaunt in SWIMWEAR!! The pool room apparently is not heated, but the pool and spa were, but with the weather the glass sunroom that covered the pool was taking on condensation. Hard to get comfy in a hot tub when every 15 seconds or so a cold drip fell from the ceiling and hit me. I tried shifting around, but the drips were everywhere, noticeable from the general wetness of the room, chairs and tables were covered in moisture, I had to leave the pool room to towel off and redress in my winter walking garb for the return trip to my room. My room itself was nice, but I could have had an inside hall room, and been more comfortable. Next time, I'll stay someplace else.
