“Needs Some Work”

  , Starkville
When I arrived they had me booked in a smoking room which was not what I wanted. It took the attendant literally 20 minutes to walk upstairs, twice, to see if another, non-smoking room was clean. (I believe the person's name was Danielle, not 100% on that, however. I checked in at around 5:45 on Sunday April 7, 2013.) Once I got checked in and got to my room I noticed how dirty the room was. The carpet was stained all over and I was afraid to walk around with my shoes off. The bed linens looked like they hadn't been washed in ages (dingy and just spots of stuff all over them, luckily I brought my own blanket and pillows. I was on the second floor which was supposed to be smoke free, at least on the end I was on, and I still smelled cigarette smoke every time I walked out of my room. Also, the beds are hard as a rock and the pillows are pitiful! And another thing, if you do stay at this hotel, make sure you request a room on the inside of the hotel, away from the interstate. It was so loud all night long with sirens and interstate traffic. I have stayed in worse hotels in the past but this one was still pretty bad. With a little love and care, this hotel could be very nice, it just needs some work. The only ray of sunshine was the lady working the front desk when I checked out. She was so friendly and helpful and a true beacon of light in a not so nice hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until the appropriate upgrades are done.
