“Noisy night's stay”

We stayed at the Baymont on November 9, 2012. We settled into our room about 9 pm and noticed that there were several families there with children running in the halls. This didn't bother us because children don't make a lot of noise and usually go to bed early. Shortly after 11 pm a large group of people came into the hallway outside our room (Room 218) and had a loud conversation with loud laughter and drinks. We were unable to sleep due to the noise. We called the front desk around 1:30 am and asked to have the management ask these people to take the party to their room. About a half hour later, it was finally quiet and we were able to sleep. Prior to checking out, some of the guests making the noise were heard to say that they had been asked at least twice during the night to be quiet by hotel personnel, When checking out, we told the clerk on duty that we were very much disturbed by the noise in the hallway overnight. The clerk said "That sucks. I hate it when that happens." No apology of any kind was offered. I didn't want to cause a scene so left the hotel. I was VERY disappointed in the reaction of the clerk on duty. If this is the kind of concern or consideration this clerk feels for the guests at your hotel, I will not be staying at Baymont Inns in the future.
