“Didn't realize Baymont got this sleezy”

  , Traverse City
I'm not sure how this location is even considered under the Baymont Inn & Suites name. It is situated ruight next to the expressway which is convenient for travellers, but with exterior doors (no interior hallways) it makes you fell very unsafe. The "lounge" was filled with unquestionable characters. It was connected to the lobby so as you checked in it reeked like smoke and you were worried about safety even before you got to your room. The door numbers were all duct taped to the door frames. The room was a decent size, but cleanliness was questioned. The room stunk like mildew and the carpets were soaking in spots, especially by the bathroom. The room was WAY overpriced for what you got. If it was a $20-30 room it would be ok, but not for what we payed to stay there. The breakfast and breakfast room were ok, but they need to wipe down the front of the counter, so much had been spilled down the front I am suprised it wasn't growing mold! And I have never seen a "tip jar" at a hotel breakfast. Not sure what I was supposed to be tipping for... not cleaning?
