“Better than last Baymont”

We were desperate for a room as car trouble had changed things and we had no reservations for how far we travelled. I told my husband no matter what we wouldn't try Baymont, since they had been my least favorite hotel on our last trip. No one had room, so, ironically we ended up there. I was more pleased with the overall feel of this one, but the one room they still had available had a very strong musty odor. It was very humid out, which was given as a possible reason, but it seemed like the air conditioner wasn't working properly and was perhaps even the source of the poor air quality. The front desk staff was super friendly and apologetic but unable to help. The morning staff heard my concerns and said they would take a look. The room, furnishings, beds, and bedding was much nicer than the last Baymont Inn, as was the lobby/eating area. If it wasn't for the bad smell, I would say that anyone should feel good about booking this hotel. I'm just not sure if this was a freak thing, or if there are ongoing problems. It could just be one a/c unit not working properly and the room wasn't rented out for two weeks. Baymont has redeemed itself partially, but not fully yet.
