“Disappointed”

First impression of this hotel was "dirty". Cobwebs in the entrance foyer, dust on the air returns, just not up to standard. Stood at the counter waiting to be greeted for at least 3 minutes. The receptionist was apparently eating around the corner and took no care to check for an incoming guest. The microwave did not work and when the front desk was called, they wanted me to move to a different room on the second floor. What? Is it not easier to move a microwave than upset a guest? Was given an apology but no action to fix the microwave. They didn't have any more and there was no way they could think out of the box to address the situation. Front desk approached the next morning about the microwave, again, offered to move to the second floor instead of finding another microwave as there were non available. Asked, are they no other Baymont Inns in Fort Wayne? NO we are the only one. By this point, I had enough of this apparent inability to problem solve and told him to fix it before I return at the end of the day. Although the person continued to try to make me move to a new room, I walked out. The microwave was fixed when I returned that night. The guest relations need a course in problem solving and guest relations. The hotel needs to be updated and make sure that all amenities are working properly prior to check in. I do not deserve to pay for something that does not work. I would not recommend this hotel for it is dirty, unkempt and the staff is less than stellar.
