“Stay at Baymon”

Overall stay was okay. Booked a King/Smoking room on-line then when I arrived for check-in at 4:00pm my smoking room had been given away and there were no other smoking rooms available (check-in time was 3:00pm at the earliest). I was not very happy and expressed that to the desk person. She happened to be the head of housekeeping and gave us permission to smoke in that room. Now just hoping they don't end up charging us for this after she assured me this wouldn't happen. I had even called the hotel directely 2 weeks before arrival to confirm my King/Smoking room and it was confirmed by the desk clerk. I feel they shouldn't give these room out to other people when you have a guaranteed room. This won't be a problem after July 1, 2013, though, when the hotel goes totally non-smoking. Also, when I booked the room on-line I got a rate of $89 before taxes. When we received the bill they had charged us $4.50 more. This isn't a lot of extra money but I feel like there is no consistency when you book on-line. And this was even through the actual hotel web-site. Not a travel web-site on the internet. Other than that, the room was nice. Nice variety at the breakfast bar. The bacon wasn't that great, though. Tough and chewy. I believe it was microwaved bacon. The desk staff was very nice and helpful.
