We stayed at the Baymont Inn in Decatur, IN. Did not have a good experience. In our first room, the toilet was leaking and there was a puddle on the bathroom floor (room 121). Also, my 11 year old son hit his leg on the side of the bed where the metal piece that holds the box spring on the bed was broke off and sharp edges were sticking out. Then, we switched to another room (room 112). The toilet would run and run and we had to shut it off manually. The metal lock was broke off this room and our first room and the rooms of our relatives who also stayed there. Our door did not lock correctly unless you lifted the door so that the lock would fit in place. The halls, lobby and breakfast room were very cold. The pool is never open there anymore during the winter months cuz they can't keep it warm enough. We were visiting family as we do every Christmas and so we like to hang out in public areas like the lobby to talk and it was very cold. Very disappointing and we don't have many options in Decatur. It used to be a nice hotel. They could do a lot of business if they would "clean" things up. There are businesses in Decatur such as Fleetwood that would be using them a lot. They are taking their business to Fort Wayne and other areas that are 20 to 30 minutes away and not convenient at all. Lastly, they have big spot lights in the parking lot which is a good thing. The bad thing is that one was shining directly across from our room and it never really got dark in the room. One good thing was that the woman that worked the front desk was as accomating. Another bad thing was that the hotel had recently been flooded when their sprinkler system burst. The hall ways were torn up (wallpaper peeling off walls and ceiling tiles missing). Not sure when the flood happened. Great hot chocolate!
