“Good stay/questionable service”

The hotel was easy to find and the check in was straight forward. The room was nice and spacious. The breakfast was good although the room could be bigger. However when we checked in we asked if we could get the same rate for 2 nights. I was told to talk to the manager in the morning. While at breakfast, the next morning, I went to the front desk and was again told I needed to talk to the manager (this was around 8am). I asked if he was in and they said maybe around 10 or 11am. I asked if there was a way to get a hold of the manager so I could find out and the person at the desk said they could call closer to 10am. Around 10am I called the front desk and they said they would call the manager who still was not in and call me back. They never called back so we checked out and simply stayed at another hotel the next night. The manager apparently works very tight hours and nobody else can approve any rate apart from the rack rate so they would rather have you leave and go elsewhere. The hotel itself was nice though.
