“I think I got the last room in 50 miles...”

Booked the reservation (single King, non-smoking) 2 days before the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Got to the hotel about 10PM and room would not open. Obviously the lock had malfunctioned as the green light would blink but the tumblers would not activate. Attendant reprogrammed my card two times before she finally switched me a different room (single twin, probably smoking because there was enough deodorizer to cover the smell of a garbage dump) which had had a cancellation. However, she didn't change it in the system so at 8 AM the next morning someone else walked into my room. When I went to the manager about 1) Someone else coming to my room, 2) The much smaller / less appointed room, 3) The night attendant's inability to rectify the situation, she apologized and said "We will try to get you into the other room for tonight." This never happened, nor did I get any kind of compensation despite a room half the size and not what I originally reserved.
