The hotel was awful! The first night our team checked in we soon realized that the rooms were extremely small and well over priced compared to what they charge on a normal rate. We were charged $288 for two nights when they normally charge around $221 for the same room without booking through ASA. The first night we were there two of the families rooms air conditioning were broken and then as one of the families were going to sleep they found a live bed bug in one of the beds. The hotel did let them leave, but once the rest of us found out they did not allow us to leave without charging us. The family who did find a bed bug moved to another hotel, but the Baymont did not even try to help them pay for the inconvenience of having to move a family of five at midnight to a new hotel. The nightmare did not end there though...the following morning the team goes to eat and there were few choices. It became more limited when a piece of molded bread was found in the serving tray. Saturday night after playing two ballgames families came back to the hotel to relax and instead were treated rudely by staff when they were standing in the hallway talking. One of our players were even singled out and yelled at by the woman working at the front desk because he was jumping and waiving at the security cameras that they had placed in the hallway. His family was so upset that they left the hotel instead of staying in for the evening. As they were leaving they found a snake decomposing in the hotel yard with maggots crawling on it. When all of the players returned that night our team enjoys hanging out together, but were unable to do this because families were not able to even all fit into a room because of how small they were, so we decided to leave our doors open and talk in the hallway since we were across from one another. The Baymont staff were rude and told us that we could not do this and then preceded to shut hallway lights off. When my own family went into our room after that to go to bed, we were unable to do so because of noises coming from the room above us. Even after we called to complain the noise did not stop until around midnight and then began promptly again by 7 a.m. If we could have gotten our money back and gotten away from there we all would have on Friday night. Our team kept the bedbug issue quiet even though we could have been more vocal to other clients who were staying there considering the hotel was full of other families staying for the tournament. There is absolutely nothing good that I can say about the Baymont Inn Jacksonville, IL.
