This was possibly one of (if not THE) WORST hotel experience our family has ever had. The room was disgusting and even if it were clean, the OVERWHELMING dirty ashtray aroma was too overpowering to realize it. Smoking was all that was left when we made our reservation, and I've stayed in a smoking room before, but nothing could prepare a family for the stench in this room. I kept thinking about how much tar and nicotine were in the mattresses and pillows we slept on. The headache that resulted from the smell left me with little sleep. The room was too small for a family of 5. There was no sleeper sofa as the online reservation showed. There were 2 double beds and a very small chair. Even though our reservation was for 5 people, the hotel had no roll-away for us; they did provide us with a blow up air mattress. (I can sleep on those when I camp and it doesn't cost me nearly $100 to do that). The front desk had little concern over the discrepancy with our reservation and the room we had. It was a Saturday night with a full house at the hotel and no manager was on duty. Some of the guests at the pool were highly intoxicated and behaving in a manner that was surely a danger to the children in the pool. The pool was totally full of young kids and several very large men repeatedly cannon balled into the pool. They also whipped a beach ball at young kids in their group. 2 of my kids were uncomfortable enough to ask to leave. The 3rd one I had to take out crying. He couldn't understand why we were at a hotel and couldn't use the pool. The staff didn't seem interested in knowing about the problem. She just shrugged and said, "oh, sorry" and returned to doing something else. VERY VERY disappointing. Even my husband who rarely complains commented that we will NEVER stay at a Baymont Inn again. And are not sure if we even trust Wyndham hotels in general after this experience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL, unless of course you enjoy that overwhelming stale ashtray aroma and small hotel rooms.
