“Reasonable accomodations near Northern Illinois University”; Nov 08, 2012 Thomas W, Macomb; I recently attended a conference held at NIU, and chose to stay at the Baymont to add to my Wyndham Rewards points. The hotel is conveniently located near campus on the main highway (IL 38) through DeKalb, with an excellent pub and grill located right next door. I enjoyed dinner there, and the best part was simply walking over. They have a nice indoor pool although I did not have the opportunity (time constraints) to use it. The two drawbacks to the hotel are its location next to the mainline of the Union Pacific railroad, which is very busy. Good thing I like trains! The other issue was a somewhat disappointing continental breakfast. They have waffles but other items were limited both in selection and variety, particularly in terms of cereal, juice, and breakfast items. The room was nice, had a good view (3rd floor looking east), quite comfortable, and very fast internet. A nice room and good location at a reasonable price. A really good restaurant (pub/grill) is located next door within waling distance! Great burgers, noisy atmosphere, and plenty of TV's for sports viewing (2 football games and the World Series).
