“Don't Get Stuck in Room 114”

As a cancer patient, I was exhausted when we arrived at the hotel for a family event. Initially I was happy to hear our room was near the front desk so we would not need to carry the bags far. Unfortunately, we needed to make multiuple trips back to the front desk because our card key would not work (dragging my my with me eachtime). Ultimately, they determined the battery in the door was dead. The solution was for them to enter the room from the exterior window, which got us in the room but did absolutely nothing to make us feel remotely secure in the room. I have to wonder how long it had been since the room had been cleaned based on all of this and a musty smell in the room. The towel bar was not even attached to the wall in the bathroom. Things did not get better during the night. One headboard abuts the office, so the people in that bed were subjected to hearing the talking and other noise from the office all night long right beside their heads. I personally arranged for roughly 10 families to stay in the hotel the same night, and I have to say we will look elsewhere next year. I will say the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The issue was with the facility, not the staff.
