“Hole in my towel! Really!”

  , Jacksonville
Things started off badly when I made the reservation. Due to the rudeness of the staff on the phone at the hotel I almost changed my mind about staying there, but since my friends were staying there also I had to suck it up. They do not really have a customers come first attitude, its more of a we do what we want because we can attitude. The room was listed online for $105 + Tax at the AAA rate but the desk at the hotel insisted that I would have to pay $112 + Tax. They gave me the option of reserving online to get the lower rate but that was the only way I would get it. I didn't want to mess with the reservation because I wanted my room close to my friends and thought if I pushed to hard for the $8.12 difference they would disregard my request. The hotel itself isn't that bad. It wasn't nasty or anything like that, but when I stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel I didn't expect to have a huge gaping hole in the towel. I did bring the towel to the desk and it was replaced immediately but come on holes in the towels! Not acceptable. The continental breakfast was lacking with boiled eggs and no type of breakfast meat. There were other things to eat like waffles and danishes but it just didn't quite fit the bill for a continental breakfast. I guess this has worked out ok for the hotel, but I was not impressed. The only other thing that I didn't even bother to mention to the desk was that the curtain in my room did not close completely which didn't give us the privacy or ability to block out the morning light we wanted especially with our room right off the pool. We just clipped it together with something.
