“Poor scared cat”; Jan 05, 2013 Marilyn P, Lorain; On a whole the room was very good though we did have to ask for a tv remote control and noticed the smoke detector was taken apart -- found a part in a drawer while lookng for a remote. Well we travel with a cat so when we went up to the continental breakfast we pulled a chair very close to the door to block anyone from going in. The cat hides in the sheets. Well as we were eating I hear a cleaning person all excited at the desk talking about finding a big cat in the room when she stripped the bed. Well needless to say I was extremely upset and asked why she went in the room when we had blocked it. She said she did not know that is why it is blocked. They asked why we did not use the do not disturb sign and we said because we did not have one. Also our vehicle was in front of our door and we had not checked out. I was surprised they went into the room before we had left. When we went back our cat was in the corner and scared to death. This incident made us very unhappy. I was so upset I couldn't finish my breakfast. The staff did apologize. This particular motel is where we have stayed 3 times before going down to Florida and we like it. One item though for handicap rooms they should have a walk in shower.
