“Just Passing Through.”; Jan 24, 2013 Allan S, Elburn; This motel was a bit difficult to get to and from due to road configuration but the end result was worth the effort. I was met by a very friendly person which I feel is necessary for a good overnight stay. However, I would prefer to perform registration in the lobby rather than through a gas-station-like vestibule with a glass divided paper transfer slot. I realize that this is for safety reasons but it didn't give me a warm secure feeling. Had a bit of a problem when the first room assigned had not been made-up yet but was quickly remedied with another room being assigned but that still required another trip to the office at a time that dinner and sleep are the major desires. Pet friendly is an important feature to me since the "family" includes a dog, but being $10.00 extra for a travelling companion that is better behaved than most children seems excessive although the outside area provided was better than most. A normal problem that I encounter at motels that caterto the overnight crowd is the carpet could use a good cleaning and this one was no exception. I liked having a clean refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot in the room although I only used the refrigerator for the water bottles. I always make note of the places I stay, particularly on recurring routes like this one and I will keep this one as a place to stay again if and when the opportunity presents itself.
