“Wonderful Property!”

I was pleasantly surprised by The Baymont. I'm frequently in Jacksonville for business (approximately once a month) and have stayed at nearly every chain up there trying to find a "home" base that meets price, comfort, cleanliness and convenience. This hotel meets them all, in spades. I stayed in the suite, which is actually two rooms and was blown away by the comfort, quiet, convenience and service I received. It's close to many restaurants, banks, the main highway (I95, 295 and J. Turner Butler Blvd, the main east/west corridor) and a Starbucks!The only improvement that really needs to be addressed there (and I was told it's next on the list to be done) is mattresses. The mattress was like sleeping on the floor. Extremely hard and lumpy and apparently, quite old. The pillows were nice and the bedding was nice, just the mattress itself (guessing all of them) need desperately to be updated. Most of the hotels and even motels now are updating to the pillow top versions. Considering what most people NEED in a hotel (other than aspects listed above) is a good nights sleep, which The Baymont will be "hard" pressed to provide with their current mattresses.Other than that, a stellar place and one which just might become my permanent home while up in Jax on business.....if only Wyndham parent company or partner could be motivated into investing in decent, updated mattresses, this place would be a complete home run for the business traveler or even those there on pleasure.
