“Conflicts with confirmation info”

I go to Redding about 2 times in 3 months period. I almost always stay at the same hotel but this time my usual one was all booked, so I started looking for other places. Online search lead me to this hotel, and everything I read and saw on web sounded good and I decided to try. I stayed in 2 double bed room solo. This is because no one queen bed room was available. When I reserved the room online I made sure of the room amenities including fridge and microwave which are "the must" condition for me when I choose hotel. When I checked in the front lady told me that the room I reserved did not have fridge or microwave. Then she offerred to switch my room to different one which has both appliances for me at the desk. I thought how nice.... But wait a minute. WHY?? When I got to the room, I pulled the copy of confirmation info send to my e-mail out of my bag, and there it is-- it says both should be included. So it was a hotel's mistake corrected by the hotel. Umm... Why ? If I did not bring out of that into our conversation I was given the wrong room I was very unhappy with. I was actually pleased with the location and clean room (even though pillows were awfully uncomfortable to sleep in and the floor of the bath tub was slipply with soap residue when I stepped in) that I thought I could alter my stay here and there when I come to Redding. But the thing is... If I can't trust the website's info, what should we expect? OR are you too busy to double check things before guests' arrival? Hope it won't happen again.
