“Would not recommend to anyone I care about”

  , Chapel Hill
This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I would not recommend staying in this hotel to anyone I care about. First of all, the hotel actually looks nothing like the pictures on their website. Secondly, I (a 19-year-old girl) was given one of ONLY THREE rooms with doors facing the outside despite being told on the phone when making my reservation that the door would be indoors, and then was told by the staff that the only way they could switch my room was if I did it before noon, which was actually impossible with my business schedule there. Hey, not a big deal right? Could be worse. That's what I said until I had some experiences with other people in the hotel outside (the elevators are also outdoor), including being harassed and followed by a group of males completely tattooed (yes their faces were tattooed) saying really disgusting things to me that are not appropriate to share in this review when exiting the elevator on the lobby floor, only to find that the door to the lobby was locked and had to knock until the concierge stopped doing whatever he was doing and came to his post. I had prepaid for the hotel from Thursday to Sunday so I could sightsee after finishing my business engagements on Friday, but when my boyfriend's flights were canceled due to inclement weather on the east coast I decided to leave that night. I was forfeiting two nights that I had already paid for but felt so unsafe in this hotel, and so unprotected by the indifferent staff, that it was not worth the money at all. I did not feel safe walking into or out of my room. I did not even feel comfortable telling the young lady at the front desk why I was checking out early because I did not feel like the staff had my (the guest's) best interests and safety as a priority. To top it all off, this woman had to search the premises for the shuttle driver for 20 minutes since he was nowhere to be found, despite my having talked to him 10 minutes ago and saying he would be ready immediately (of course he said no word of apology, or any words at all for that matter, once he finally showed up).
