“Lack of Management Attention”

We rented the room based on price. We planned a two week stay. When we moved in everything was ok - the carpet was dirty as were the corners in the bathroom - nothing gross. On the third day of our stay we left some coins on the dresser; my wife thought some were missing when we returned. On the fifth day I left a dress pocket knife beside the mouse when we went to the beach as there was no safe in the room. When we got back that evening the pocket knife was gone. We tore the room apart to no avail. I went to the front desk and reported it. The clerk told me he would notify the manager that night. We didn't hear anything from management the next day and the following day we moved down the street to a competitor's hotel. We paid more but felt safer. When we checked out, it would have been nice for the desk clerk to ask why we were cutting our stay in half or at least if she had asked "how was your stay?"
