“Why pay for a room, when you can sleep outside in the parking lot with the bums?”; Feb 25, 2013 Abigail S, Wenatchee; Having hit a Super 8 for my first overnight of this trip, and being pleasantly surprised at its cleanliness and comfortability for HALF the price of this place, I was that much more disappointed in the Baymont Inn. Severely overpriced, not that there is a small enough amount of money that would make me okay with sleeping in a place with such a wide variety of vomitous smells, including that, distinctly of vomit, in the elevator. Guess we will be toting all 80lbs of luggage, at midnight, up 3 flights of stairs. Super.The room didnt smell, and the beds comfortable. The breakfast is decent plus, the staff cordial. Thats pretty much the end of the nice things I can say. Heres some more of the not so awesome things - The cable/reception/picture quality is so poor is aggrevating. I dont even own nor watch TV, but again, Im paying for this, so I expect it to work. I was both shocked and horrified to find a mostly naked transient man rambling and ranting to his crazy self in the bushes/landscape border of the parking lot. Turns out, theres a nice little bum camp right there, not 20 yards from the building side enterence. Not especially comforting for a single girl and kiddo traveling alone. But, in his defense, he didnt ask me for a cig, a change from the typical Portland bum im used to.Bottom line, I would NEVER stay here nor recommend it. I am actually angered that I had to pay money to be subjected to such an experience.
