“Disappointing stay”

My husband and I were visiting Peoria during a family emergency and had challenges finding a place to stay. The Baymont was accomodating and the staff was friendly. The price was also very affordable. However, in spite of their claims of recent renovations, the elevator and hallways were dingy and the room was cramped and musty/smoky smelling. When I tried to get my laptop and the phone near each other to contact my employer, I ended up having to work from the bed because there was no phone at the desk. Also, there was a tour bus full of students staying at the hotel and they were in the elevators, hallways and lobby. They had also overrun the breakfast area, leaving no room or food for other guests. We ended up shortening our stay to a single night and checking out earlier than we had planned and had to find alternate breakfast accomodations. It was a disappointing stay, but at least it was affordable.
