“Not your best showing”

I have been staying at your establishment even back when it was a Hampton Inn. I have pretty well enjoyed my stays over the years but I have to say I do not believe I will be back. I am not one that needs a lot of extras, just the basic expected service. On this visit I had 3 things happen that bothered me. First I could not get any warm air out of the heater. After about 3 hours I went down and ask a gentleman if he would just check the heater and see if he could get it working a little better why I was at friends for dinner. He said he would. I never heard a thing back from him, no note, no nothing, no increased heat. Thankfully it was not a real cold night so I simply cut it off to stop the cool air from coming out. Secondly; I received a phone call from the front desk on Saturday morning wanting to know who I was? They did not have a record of me being in the room. I had reservations with credit card confirmation. I realize that things happen but why call me, the customer? My confirmation# 33692241. Third; when checking out Sunday morning at 7:00 am, the lady barely spoke 3 words to me. I told her I wanted to check out, she printed out my bill, laid it on the couter and said nothing. I asked if she wanted me to sign and she said no that was my copy. So I looked it over and asked if the total was $123.00 or whatever just to be sure and she said yes. I said ok then thanked her. No response whatsoever. None. I walked away shaking my head saying something like "unbelievable". I don't ask for much, don't need much, but I do expect common curtesy, common manners, at least minimal friendlyness. You have always provided a comfortable clean room at a reasonable rate. This time the room was clean, not comfortable, and I did not leave with a very good warm feeling. So, although I may have to pay a little more I believe I will look elsewhere for a room next time I am in your beautiful city. Have agood life.
